A woman of very slight importance

My name is Aly and I'm an alcoholic. *cough* Wait, let's start that again...
A 20-something year old from Australia, I'm a funny little kettle of fish who enjoys analyzing Twin Peaks, hanging out in cemeteries, quoting Oscar Wilde, and trying to convince people I am normal (somewhat unsuccessfully). Other loves include geeky science puns, adjectives beginning with the prefix in-, and people who don't say 'who?' when I proclaim The Smiths to be the greatest band in history. Rap music, cricket, the meat industry and reality TV shows are evil and must be stopped. In the Alyverse, MorrisseyBow down and worship him! is a God and should be worshipped as such. [Not scared off yet?]

Sims of our Lives

Sims of our Lives is a soap opera-style story that follows the lives of 8 families living in the fictional town of Suncrest Hills. It’s staged in the Sims 2 game, and the stories (or “episodes”) are made up of both in-game pictures and my own written text. The series currently consists of 12 episodes, and at this stage it is unlikely the series will progress any further due to irreparable in-game damage (translation: the Suncrest Hills neighbourhood is farked and I can’t fix it! *cries*).

However, if you are interested in the continuation of the series (and the subsequent re-writing of the original 12 episodes), I have plans to convert Sims of our lives to a non-Simlish novella-style format, so stay tuned for that!

Meanwhile another shocking discovery turns Lucas and Michelle’s relationship from bad to worse, and Bruce tries to deal with the loss of Jenny.

Meanwhile Bruce’s relationship with Andrea appears doomed and Lance Goodwin makes a discovery that will turn his world upside down.

Episode #10: “Growing up”

Emotions are running wild as the new college semester begins at Sim State University, and new students Ciaran, Landon and Chloe all add to the drama. Also, I figure I should probably have some sort of warning/disclaimer regarding the content of Sims of our Lives…it’s hardly as sordid as most of the rubbish on TV these days, but it does contain a few sexual references and adult themes, so just a heads up to the ultra-conservative. Really though, if you’re offended by pixellated cartoon characters making out in their underwear (and really, that’s as dirty as it gets), it’s probably time you loosened up a little. ;)
